Whatever your age, asking for help or advice about your sexual health is not easy.

Firstly, there’s the issue of who to ask.  Then there’s the worry about having to ask and answer awkward questions and fear of being judged, particularly if the information needed relates to tricky issues such as sexually transmitted infections.

FCD Health’s 4-Y-P: 4 Young People aims to make seeking information and advice about sexual health and health issues generally, a little less scary.

This confidential service is supported by a skilled team of health care professionals including nurses, midwives, general practitioners, dieticians and psychologists, all with a passion for improving the health outcomes of youth.

So, if you are between the ages of 12  and 24, and you have a question about a sensitive topic, simply go and collect a 4-Y-P card from your local school, community health centre or health information stand, it’ll help cut out the awkwardness of having to ask. Then come drop in to see one of the 4-Y-P team at the Palmerston GP Super Clinic, 2 pm to 6 pm Wednesdays to Thursdays or  11 am to 3 pm on Saturdays.

No card? No worries!

Just call in on the days 4-Y-P is open and let the receptionist know you’d like to talk to one of the 4-Y-P team. Still easy and with discretion!
